I grew up in Auckland before realising Nelson was the place to live. I started work with the stock and station firm called NMA later taken over by Wrightsons. I moved on to Merch Sharpe & Dohme and then came south in 1974 to work at the Apple & Pear Board. In 1977 I went to Perth Western Australia and worked at Coca Cola for three years. I returned to New Zealand in 1980 and began working at the Apple and Pear Board again shortly after the birth of my first daughter. I started my first business in Nelson in 1982, Nelson Mini-Bin Hire switched to Nelson Rewind Specialists in 1986, and back to Nelson Mini Bin Hire in 1990. I have first hand knowledge of what it is like to be in business and can be of assistance to anyone who needs accounting and business advice. In 1993 I decided I needed to further my business management knowledge so began studying for a Diploma in Business course at Nelson Polytechnic. I carried on to complete a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting and graduated in 1995. Since then I have been employed as an accountant and in June 2000 became a Director of A 1 Accounting Ltd. In April 2003 we changed our name to Acounting Tasman Ltd. I have a particular interest in farm accounting and also specialise in forestry businesses. I am married to Pam, have three children, 2 dogs, 2 cats a rabbit, and the usual mortgage.
